RENOVATE across major European Battery events
Over the first week of May, the RENOVATE project played a prominent role in a series of high-level European events, engaging diverse stakeholders and showcasing its latest results and advancements towards a more resilient and circular battery value chain in Europe.
From Milan to Turin, the project reinforced its contribution to sustainability, innovation and circular economy solutions for batteries, while fostering collaboration across research, industry and policy communities.
Driving dialogue on circular batteries in Milan
on the 5 May 2026, RENOVATE hosted its Clustering Workshop: “Circular batteries: Pathways for an integrated value chain in Europe” in Milan, Italy.
Organised by LOMARTOV, D&C leaders, together with INSTM, the project coordinator, and hosted by AFIL at Innovhub SSI facilities, the event welcomed 58 participants onsite and 26 online, including experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry and EU project representatives to learn and discuss the future of European battery value chain, advance in circularity, and align with EU regulatory frameworks.
RENOVATE at the Interreg EU CHARGE project
On 6 May, RENOVATE contributed to the Interreg EU CHARGE project, an EU‑wide initiative promoting innovative, safe, and sustainable battery policies aligned with the new EU Batteries Regulation.
During the event, our project coordinator, Eliana Quartarone, presented the project and its progress, highlighting its innovative approach to circular battery solutions. Additionally, our partners from FAAM, also joined the discussion during the roundtable session, engaging with other experts to exchange insights on validation of circular economy approaches and strategies.
This participation reinforced RENOVATE’s role in shaping discussions around sustainable battery innovation at European level.
For a third and consecutive year, RENOVATE participates in the Battery 2030+ Annual Conference
Following these engagements, RENOVATE participated in the final Battery 2030+ Annual Conference, held on 7 and 8 May at Politecnico di Torino, Italy.
Our partners from KIT – HIU and the UNIPV actively contributed by presenting their latest research through poster sessions, pitches, and sessions dedicated to engage in dialogue across the battery research and innovation ecosystem.
The conference provided an inspiring platform for exchange, bringing together industry representatives, young scientists and researchers in green innovation and battery technologies, including our sister projects.
This intensive week of activities highlights the strong momentum of the RENOVATE project as it progresses towards delivering tangible results in its final stages.
By participating in key events and fostering exchanges across the European ecosystem, RENOVATE continues to strengthen collaboration across projects and sectors, share knowledge and best practices, and advance solutions for a circular and sustainable battery value chain. These engagements not only enhance the project’s visibility but also contribute to shaping the future of battery recycling and circularity in Europe.
