Our partners Helmholtz Institute Ulm (HIU), by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) are looking for a postdoctoral researcher focused on engineering, natural, or environmental sciences to conduct their work in the life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC) of new and emerging energy technologies: on long-term and thermal storage, and hydrogen. The postdoc position will require to:
- Conduct LCA, LCC, and Social LCA including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Develop and maintain tools, models, and databases to support sustainability and life cycle analysis activities.
- Represent expertise within the Helmholtz Association and support collaboration at various working levels, including national and international networks.
- Collaborating in national and EU projects.
- Identifying opportunities for environmental improvement, resource optimisation, and circular economy practices.
- Identify emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in the fields of sustainability research, prospective LCA, and new energy technologies.
- Communicate results and recommendations to societal stakeholders and partners within the EU projects and related activities.
- Contribute to new work areas and the implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
- Supervise thesis projects (Bachelor’s, Master’s).
